lumen

There is an energy, a light, that brings us all together. The modern congregation — bilingual, in Palmetto Bay and online across the Americas.

Next online service: Sunday, 11:00 AM Miami · 11:00 AM Medellín

Spirituality, not indoctrination.

Lumen is a spiritual community for people who want God without the gatekeeping — whatever tradition you come from, or none. Nobody here is going to tell you what to think; we'll practice with you, and you'll find out what you believe. Short, because faith should be. These are the things we hold together; everything else is a conversation.

  1. There is an energy, a light, that brings us all together. People have called it God, the Divine, the Source, Love — and some don't call it anything yet. We don't fight over the name.
  2. That Light is in you. Not earned, not awarded — already there. Our work is to help you see it and share it.
  3. Every tradition carries wisdom. We read the Bible, the Torah, the Qur'an, the Gita, the Sutras, and the words of the mystics and the poets, and we are better for all of them.
  4. Doubt is part of faith, not the opposite of it. Questions are welcome in the room.
  5. Prayer changes the one who prays. We pray, meditate, and sit in silence — and we believe it matters.
  6. Love is the measure. If a belief makes you crueler, it isn't from the Light. If it makes you kinder, braver, and more honest, keep it.
  7. Healing is holy. Body, mind, and spirit are one life, and caring for the sick is worship.
  8. Faith is finished in service. What we believe shows up in what we do for the child, the stranger, and the family in need.

Anyone can join. Even if you don't believe in God — or not the same one.

You belong here if you…

  • don't believe in God, aren't sure, or believe in a different God than the person next to you
  • grew up in a church, a mosque, a temple — or nowhere
  • left religion and miss the faith part
  • are LGBTQ+, divorced, single, remarried, or any family shape
  • speak English, Spanish, or both badly
  • work nights, live far away, or can only make it on your phone
  • are not sure what you believe yet

No one will ever ask you to…

  • pass a test of doctrine
  • give up the tradition you came from
  • dress a certain way or sit in a certain pew
  • pay to belong
  • pretend to be more certain than you are
